More than six billion brains on this planet, and so little use made of them...

"Why we didn't remove Saddam" .
In international terms, we tried to establish a model for the use of force. First and foremost was the principle that aggression cannot pay. If we dealt properly with Iraq, that should go a long way toward dissuading future would-be aggressors. We also believed that the U.S. should not go it alone, that a multilateral approach was better. This was, in part, a practical matter. Mounting an effective military counter to Iraq's invasion required the backing and bases of Saudi Arabia and other Arab states. George Bush [Sr.]. and Brent Scowcroft.

Lies bring lies bring lies. The "freedom" warriors are caught in an explosive feedback loop that may destroy world peace.
The US is facing increasing pressure on "revealing" Iraq's "hidden" weapons of mass destructions "to the world". Thus far the hunt has failed. The accusations made against Syria serve well the purpose of diverting our attention to a different direction.
Yesterday Iraq, today Syria and tomorrow...
I am so sick of it that i am becoming religious. I hope that those who terrorise us with their "war on terror" will pay for their sins.

Being a diplomat sucks, or gosh you have to suck to be a diplomat. Last Friday, the German ambassador to the US Wolfgang Ischinger gave a terrible speech in SF (NPR, KQED). His main point:, the war on Iraq was not justified but it does not matter because Germany and the US are good friends, isn't?
Ischinger the poor soul even described Donald Rumsfeld as one of the most powerful speakers he has ever heard...
As most people from Old Europe know Rumsfeld is also among the the biggest idiots that ever stepped foot in a US administration (make a search on the web for Rumsfeld and idiot, just for fun):
Commenting on the barbaric looting of the National Museum in Baghdad, Rumsfeld said "Freedom's untidy. And free people are free to make mistakes and commit crimes and do bad things.". "Freedom" is certainly why Rumsfeld quickly put troops around the Iraqi Oil Ministry but refused to project the National Museum.
Rumsfeld is potentially more of an idiot thant Bush himself. Made euphorical by the fall of Baghdad, Rumsfeld ordered contingency plans for a war on Syria to be reviewed. Bush promptly vetoed them, but who knows how much time \we have before the "sharp" Rumsfeld convinces the congress of his next bloody project.
